Christy Marchand has over 20 years of extensive accounting, controller and executive finance experience primarily in the ethanol industry. She has gained valuable executive experience and achieved great success as a Chief Financial Officer and currently serves as a Board of Director for an ethanol plant. She is also on the North Iowa Corridor Economic Development Board of Directors and Hancock County Economic Development Board of Directors.
Christy’s responsibilities have included maintaining relationships with banking institutions, audit/legal firms, and investment companies, as well as negotiating utility contracts. She was responsible for the first corporate communication with approximately 1,000 LLC members (shareholders) including annual meetings, quarterly newsletters, taxable income projections, unit transfers, distributions and corporate governance. The ROI to those members has averaged 111% since 2004. While managing a staff that included HR and IT departments, she developed systems and processes that equated to 33% labor savings within the first year. She has also successfully negotiated multiple economic development incentive programs, including multi-million dollar tax incremental financing packages.
While serving on the Board of Directors of a startup ethanol plant since 2010, Christy’s expertise has contributed to tremendous growth. The plant has doubled capacity and remains one of the lowest cost producers and has the top production rate of any single location dry-mill ethanol facility in the United States. This has led the facility to become one of the most profitable and top performing plants in the country.
Christy’s leadership skills feature a natural ability to interact with all levels of an organization. She relies on her vision and motivation to offer our clients the kind of expertise that can increase efficiency and encourage consistent growth.
